Good afternoon,
We are providing an important update on the current situation at the middle school. First we would like to share accurate information to clarify everyone’s understanding. The threat was made in the girls bathroom at the middle school and did not involve any other school. The High School was closed due to the proximity of the building to the middle school. The investigation is ongoing with support from law enforcement .
At this time we have no suspect. We continue to encourage students to speak with a trusted adult if they have any information that might help in the ongoing investigation. If your child has any information related to the threat, please contact the middle school office immediately. Your partnership is essential as we work to maintain a secure and nurturing school community.
At this time we have made the decision to re-open the Maranacook Schools Campus on Friday, November 15th. The safety and security of our students is our top priority, and we will be implementing enhanced measures to ensure a safe learning environment, including but not limited to added Sheriff’s Department presence at drop off, modifications to the daily routines, a revised procedure for leaving the classroom and constant administrative presence in the hallways. With these added measures we feel confident that our schools can re-open safely.
We look forward to students returning tomorrow and thank you for your continued support.
