As members of this community, we all have an important responsibility and it’s our civic duty–when it comes to our public schools–to exercise our right to vote at the annual school budget referendum. This year's referendum vote is scheduled for June 11th, and your participation matters greatly.

The purpose of the referendum is to determine the tax revenue allocated to fund our district's educational programs, resources, staff salaries, facilities and much more for the upcoming school year. Voter-approved budgets ensure that our schools can maintain a high-quality learning environment to support student success and achievement.

By exercising your right to vote, you are by extension investing in the futures of our children and the long-term success of our community. Your voice does matter and is a piece of the puzzle that allows our district to retain exceptional teachers, provide diverse curriculum offerings, integrate emerging technology, and keep buildings safe and well-maintained.

For some community members, their attention may need to scrutinize the costs against their own economic realities. Respectful debates around budget details can improve transparency. But overall, we must prioritize properly funding education to cultivate the next generation of thinkers, innovators and leaders.

Although the vote this year on June 11th is the final step in the budget process, we don’t take your voice for granted. Your vote is important for this coming year as it helps guide the development of future budgets, priorities and goals.

We urge all eligible citizens to study the budget information from the district which can be found on our website, youtube channel, and the newsletter mailing. Let's come together to uphold quality schools and secure a bright future for our children and community. The most important thing we can urge is for all to get out and vote!
